What is Keurig?

Keurig is a company that manufactures coffee machines. It is a subsidiary of the Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Corporation. Keurig coffee machines are unique because they can brew a single cup of coffee in just under a minute. This saves a lot of time and cleanup. How does the process work? The coffee drinker inserts a K-cup, a cup of prepared coffee grounds, into the machine along with a mug under the machine. The button brew button is pressed and the one-minute coffee machine is ready to serve. Commercial machines are able to pull K-cups into a self-contained receptacle and so there is usually no clean up involved for the next coffee drinker. However, home versions of the one-minute coffee maker do require manual removing.

What are the advantages of using Keurig? Obviously, the biggest advantage is that you can get your coffee in less than a minute. Keurig machines brew coffee by piercing the seal on top of the “K-cup” with a spray nozzle, while at the same time piercing the bottom of the K-cup with a discharge nozzle. The coffee inside of the cup stays inside a paper filter, while hot, pressurized water is forced through the cup passing through the grounds and through the filter, eventually settling into the drinker’s mug. Besides the quick speed, another advantage is that the coffee drinker can purchase a special “My-K-cup” filter, which allows drinkers to use their own gourmet grounds in the same brewer.

Keurig coffee machines are special coffee makers designed to brew great tasting coffee in a single cup in less than one minute. Keurig’s technology has brought the company into good contact with various coffee roaster brands, tea makers, and other beverage makers who have created their own “K-cups” for use with the coffee machine. A Keurig machine is actually capable of producing a variety of hot water beverages, such as hot cocoa, soap, tea and canarino. One big advantage of this machine is the K-cup invention, which brings its own flavor and takes the flavor with it upon disposal. This means that the machine can handle different types of beverages without any leftover flavors, spills or crumbs. Some popular models include the B40 Elite Coffee Maker and the B60 Special Edition.
